I didn't enter "Jeepers Creepers 2" with any expectations. I was fully open to the possibility that it could be a completely different film from its predecessor. I had an absolute blast. The characters were likeable and the actors portraying them were more than up for the task. The film could be creepy, don't get me wrong, and I also don't believe the lack of tension to be a bad thing, for Jeepers Creepers 2 trades the original's suspense for a popcorn entertainment, a rather action-packed take on an eerie story. The film is to be commended on its ending, and although felt a tad forced at times, was better executed than its predecessor. Also (especially when taking into account the low budget of the original), the effects in this film are very impressive, the creeper's makeup effects are awesome, and the all the computer enhanced effects are strengthened by the obvious state of having more money to play with this time around. All in all, a thoroughly entertaining sequel, and just all-round fun.

My rating:
Inventive and original thriller eschews typical slasher movie cliches to deliver a truly original version of the Devil. It's an unforgettable monster that will live in your nightmares. This is a road trip movie with horror veteran Justin Long and Gina Phillips; playing siblings on a drive back from college on spring break. The brother stupidly stops the car to investigate a well where many undead people seem to be buried and held captive; and in the process he catches the attention of The Creeper, a Pennywise-like demon that awakens every 23 years to capture new people & new slaves for his human-quilt and to harvest new body parts. The star of the movie is really the Creeper. This is a truly original monster that defies description and causes genuine chills. Thumbs up!
